Every Design Element Is Your Choice
Custom shower design at AZ Fast Bath works through our Traditional Series — our highest-customization panel platform. During your free in-home estimate, every element below is discussed and decided. Nothing is locked in until you have seen samples and confirmed the design in writing.
Wall Panel Style and Color
Choose from realistic stone, granite, and marble-look patterns (Sentrel, Onyx Collection), contemporary solid and textured panels (Fibo), or combination two-panel layouts that pair a primary panel with an accent strip or contrasting inset. Options include large-format panels with minimal seaming, vertical grain orientations, and mixed-tone designs that coordinate with adjacent tile or vanity finishes.
Hardware Finish
Every fixture and hardware element — showerhead, valve trim, hand shower, slide bar, towel bar, and grab bars — is available in chrome, brushed nickel, matte black, oil-rubbed bronze, and champagne/brushed gold. Hardware finish is chosen at the design stage and applied consistently across every element in the shower for a cohesive final result.
Glass Enclosure and Door Type
Choose from frameless hinged doors, semi-frameless bypass (sliding) doors, barn door panels, fixed glass panels with open entry, frosted glass, or fully open doorless configurations. Glass knee walls, half-walls, and corner entry configurations are also available. See our Shower Door Options page for photos of every door type.
Shower Head Configuration
Standard wall-mounted shower head, ceiling-mounted rain head, pendant rain head on an extended arm, dual shower heads for a two-person shower, body jet systems, and hand shower with slide bar — or any combination of the above. Shower head placement and rough-in locations are confirmed at the estimate stage and factored into the one-day installation plan.
Specialty Features
- Steam shower — steam generator, steam head, and control panel integrated into the shower design; requires sealed enclosure and specific ventilation
- Body jet system — wall-mounted body spray jets at custom heights for a spa-style experience; requires additional rough-in and water pressure assessment
- Linear drain — a floor-length linear drain along one wall instead of a center or offset round drain; requires specific floor slope during installation
- Glass knee wall — a partial-height glass wall at the shower entry rather than a full-height enclosure; creates an open feel while containing water
Accent Elements
Custom showers can incorporate accent elements that break up a single panel color and add visual depth. Options include vertical accent strips in a contrasting panel, stone mosaic accent bands, decorative tile knee walls (at the base of the shower), and one-panel accent insets in a different color or pattern. These are planned at the design stage and installed as part of the panel system on the same day.
Bench Seats and Niches
Built-in bench seats are sized to your shower footprint and installed as part of the panel system. Fold-down bench seats are available for smaller footprints. Recessed niches are available in single and double configurations, horizontal and vertical orientations, in one or multiple walls. Niche placement is determined during the design phase based on your daily use preferences and shower layout.
How the Custom Shower Design Process Works
- Free in-home design estimate — We come to your home with physical wall panel samples, hardware finish samples, and door style references. We measure the space, discuss every design element, and build the configuration together during the consultation.
- Written design specification — Your estimate includes a complete written specification of every design element — panel style and color, hardware finish, door type, niche count and placement, bench seat type, and any specialty features. No ambiguity about what you ordered.
- Materials ordered to spec — Once you approve the estimate and specification, we order your custom panels cut to your shower dimensions and all hardware to your specifications. Lead time is typically two to four weeks.
- One-day installation — Our crew removes the existing shower, installs the waterproof substrate, and builds the new custom shower exactly to specification — all in a single day for most projects.
- Final walkthrough — We walk through every design element of the finished shower against the written specification to confirm everything was built exactly as designed before we clean up and leave.

Frequently Asked Questions — Custom Shower Designs in Arizona
What design options are available for a custom shower in Arizona?
Through our Traditional Series, every design element is configurable: wall panel style and color, hardware finish (chrome, brushed nickel, matte black, oil-rubbed bronze, champagne gold), glass enclosure type, shower head configuration (standard, ceiling rain, pendant, dual-head, body jets), accent elements (mosaic strips, accent insets, knee walls), bench seat type, niche count and placement, and specialty features like steam systems and linear drains. We bring physical samples to your home during the free design estimate so you can see and feel every option before deciding.
Can I see examples of custom shower designs before my estimate?
Yes — browse the gallery on this page and our Walk-In Shower Gallery for installed photos of real AZ Fast Bath custom projects. During your free in-home estimate, we also bring a physical sample board with panel materials and hardware finishes so you can see the actual colors and textures rather than relying on photos alone.
Can I match my custom shower hardware to my existing bathroom fixtures?
Yes — hardware finish is one of the first decisions we make during the design estimate. If your bathroom already has brushed nickel faucets and towel bars, we match all shower hardware to brushed nickel. If you want to change the finish as part of the remodel, we can do that as well. Consistent hardware finish across the bathroom is something we prioritize in the design specification from the start.
How much does a custom shower design cost in Arizona?
Custom shower pricing depends on the shower footprint, panel collection and design complexity, glass enclosure type, hardware finish, and any specialty features — steam, body jets, linear drain, or dual shower heads. We provide a complete itemized written estimate during your free in-home design consultation so you see exactly what each element costs. Financing through Wisetack is available for qualified Arizona homeowners.
How long does a custom shower installation take?
Most custom shower installations are completed in a single day. Specialty features like steam systems or body jet rough-in may require additional time, and very large footprints occasionally take two days. We tell you upfront at the estimate stage exactly how many days your specific project will require — the timeline is part of the written specification before any work begins.
